In 1977, in collaboration with Shell International, a factory for blending and packaging mineral oils was established and operated with a production capacity of 15,000 tons annually, which has now increased to 25,000 tons and can be expanded further. The company manufactures mineral oils under the brand name JOPETROL Oils and produces over 100 types of multi-purpose mineral oils to meet the Kingdom’s needs for this material.
The specifications of mineral oils are based on Jordanian Standard Specifications, the specifications of the American Petroleum Institute (API), the standards of the Society of Automotive Engineers (SAE), European standards, the specifications of machinery manufacturers, and the standards of the US Army (Military Standards). These oils are subjected to stringent quality control in modern, specialized laboratories.
JOPETROL Oils takes pride in obtaining several certifications, such as the Global Quality Management System Certificate ISO 9001:2015. This certification reflects the high standards achieved by JOPETROL Oils in production, packaging, and marketing. It is a source of pride for the Jordanian industry and a strong motivator to expand into foreign markets, improve service quality, and ensure compliance with global specifications and standards.

JOPETROL Oils has also achieved the first rank in the Laboratory Results Matching Program organized by Shell International and distinguished positions in the Dutch IIS program for performance testing among international laboratories. Furthermore, JOPETROL Oils received approval from General Electric for its oils used in modern locomotives currently utilized by the Aqaba Railway. The company has also secured certifications from Mercedes-Benz for using Super Diesel Oil 15W/40 and Super Diesel Synthetic 10W/40 in its engines, as well as the Jordanian Quality Mark.
The laboratories of JOPETROL Oils have been accredited with the certification number ISO/IEC 17025:2017 from the Jordan Standards and Metrology Organization, qualifying them as internationally recognized laboratories.
